WE ARE SCIENTISTS [14+ Gig] TUESDAY 26 AUGUST / THE EMPIRE / MIDDLESBROUGH
With their daft facial hair and questionable fashion sense, tank-top sporting Brooklyn supernerds We Are Scientists look more like maths teachers than rock gods - but as we all know, looks can be deceiving! Their debut album was full of anthems like 'The Great Escape', 'It's A Hit' and 'Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt' which propelled WAS into the upper echelons of the indie-rock hierarchy and their hilarious live shows saw them tour with the likes of The Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, Maximo Park and Arctic Monkeys.
Now, back with album number two 'Brain Thrust Mastery' and a stellar selection of brand new anthems including recent hit 'After Hours', We Are Scientists will be following up their performances at the Leeds/Reading festivals with an exclusive show for us here in Middlesbrough.
'Jerky, jokey Band Of The People blaring out indie dancefloor hits so supersonic that Richard Branson is trying to sell passenger tickets into space on them.' NME
